How Does the Hybrid Cloud Work?
There’s a lot of talk about a hybrid Cloud these days. But, eQuorum has been providing this option for years. eQuorum provides three deployment options for ImageSite, its industry technology-leading application, including On-premise, Private Cloud, and SaaS Cloud. Both Cloud options can be synched with the on-premise solution to provide a hybrid Cloud configuration.
Synchronization between the Cloud and an on-premise system is accomplished by using eQuorum’s eSync=Site application, allowing encrypted communication and alignment between two or more instances of ImageSite, including EngineBox, our Cloud EDMS.
Ensuring complete consistency in the hybrid configuration, the environment can be set for immediate synchronization, delayed and digested data transfer and alignment, or for manual synching. ImageSite is flexible enough to permit different structures between independent instances and even for projects between two instances (e.g., only particular projects may be specified to be immediately synchronized while others can run using different synchronization schedules).
Security is paramount and all connections between instances maintain SSL authentication and tunneling. Access to on-premise systems is accomplished with a private tunnel to web traffic ports using HTTPS protocols. In addition, connections can be set up with multi-factor authentication, ensuring the user accessing either instance is permitted. Then using ImageSite’s granular security profiles, further permission restrictions are applied using NIST’s “least privilege” concept.
Hybrid Cloud EDMS Portal for Third Party Access
The Cloud instance of ImageSite can be branded with the company colors and themes presenting a company image website to third parties. Companies using the branded portal can be restricted to seeing only documents applicable to them and be given appropriate functionality like downloading, uploading, and marking up. Notifications, both email and internal, can be automatically generated when third parties utilize the portal, including when files are downloaded, uploaded, or versioned up.
Hybrid Cloud EDMS for Business Backup and Continuity
Though many organizations have traditional backup procedures and business continuity processes, they typically take a reasonable amount of time to initiate and get services back to normal. With a Hybrid Cloud EDMS, users can continue working directly off the Cloud system and not miss a beat. When the on-premise computers come back online synchronization is automatically executed getting the multiple instances back in alignment.
Preventing Slow or Intermittent Internet Connections
Even at large companies, internet connections can sometimes be unreliable and even slowed down to unusable levels. Regardless, your business must continue. With a hybrid configuration using immediate synchronization, users can be confident they have access to the files they need, even without suitable internet, and can continue normal business activities.
Hybrid Cloud Integration with Other Cloud/SaaS Systems
More and more organizations are moving to Cloud and SaaS Cloud applications. Using ImageSite in a hybrid deployment is an easy way of managing integration between Cloud-based systems. Using SAML2.0 technology systems, like ID providers and Office 365, the system can be accessed and provide functionality similar to on-premise systems, enabling Cloud integration without needing to set up interfaces between your on-premise and other Cloud applications.

The eQuorum Customer Promise
In 2005, eQuorum developed the first all browser-based EDMS. The system, although for on-premise use, was still created to remove client software and JAVA from user computers and allow users to have a single viewer based on the simple navigation functionality of browsers. Today, eQuorum provides that same application in a private Cloud or a SaaS Cloud option. We can do this because we are, and have always been, browser-based, understanding the enhanced speed, security, and usability of this technology.
With the abundance of document management systems on the market today, there’s no doubt that choosing the right Cloud document management software can be a difficult decision. eQuorum is here to provide a comprehensive, powerful, and most importantly – affordable Cloud document management solution. We believe in providing real value to our customers by eliminating unnecessary costs, providing industry-leading functionality, and equipping your team with the right tools using cutting edge technology to bring your products to market faster.
